September 11, 2001.
Lady Liberty, representing the American people, is seen rising out of the debris and rubble of the World Trade Center. Her expression is one of determination as she prepares to respond to those who have attacked us. Seen within the rubble from which she rises is the outline of the United States, symbolizing how all Americans, regardless of race, creed, or political persuasion, came together as one that day.

The original painting was exhibited in the National Museum of the Marine Corps from the museum's opening in November of 2006 through November of 2008 and a framed canvas giclee of the original remains on display in the Museum.
